Coffee Base

Method

Preparing the Coffee

1

Brew the Espresso

Brew 2 shots of espresso using an espresso machine or stovetop espresso maker.

2

Prepare Hot Water

Heat 100 ml of water to just below boiling and mix with the brewed espresso for a cappuccino or keep espresso as is for a latte.

Frothing the Milk

3

Heat the Milk

In a small saucepan, heat 1 cup of milk over medium heat until steaming, but not boiling.

4

Froth the Milk

Using a milk frother or whisk, froth the heated milk until it doubles in volume and is creamy.

Assembling the Drinks

5

Combine Ingredients

For a cappuccino, pour the espresso mixture into a cup and add frothed milk on top. For a latte, simply pour the steamed milk over the espresso. For a mocha, stir the cocoa powder into the espresso before adding milk.

6

Add Sweetness

Add sugar to taste and stir gently.

7

Garnish

Top with a sprinkle of cinnamon or chocolate shavings, if desired.
