Method
Prepare Tortillas
- 1
Fry the Tortillas
In a deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place each flour tortilla in the oil and fry for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
Make Relleno Sauce

Combine Ingredients
In a small saucepan, combine the tomato sauce, green chilies, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, and salt. Stir well and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through.
Assemble Taco Salads

Layer the Ingredients
Take a crispy tortilla and spread a layer of refried beans on the bottom. Next, add a generous handful of lettuce and diced tomatoes on top.
- 4
Add Sauce and Toppings
Drizzle the homemade Relleno sauce over the top of the salad. Finish off with dollops of sour cream and guacamole on each salad.
