Prepare the Ginger
Muddle the fresh ginger in the bottom of a cocktail shaker to release its juices.

Mix Ingredients
Add the Gosling's Black Seal Rum, lime juice, and simple syrup into the shaker with the muddled ginger.

Shake
Fill the shaker with ice and shake well until chilled.

Strain
Strain the mixture into a highball glass filled with ice.

Top with Ginger Beer
Pour the ginger beer over the strained mixture.

Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim of the glass.
