Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Seafood

Ensure that the shrimp are peeled and deveined, and the clams and mussels are cleaned thoroughly.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Sauté Aromatics

In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes, and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  2. 3

    Add Marinara

Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes and cook for another 3-4 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

  3. 4

    Add Broth

Pour in the seafood broth or fish stock. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.

  4. 5

    Add Seafood

Once simmering, add the shrimp, scallops, clams, and mussels to the pot. Cover and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the seafood is cooked through and the clams and mussels have opened.

  5. 6

    Season

Taste the stew and season with salt and black pepper as needed.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

Ladle the zuppa di pesce into bowls, garnish with chopped fresh parsley, and serve with crusty bread on the side.
