Spicy Cocktail Sauce

Method

Preparing the Shrimp

1

Boil the Water

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil.

2

Add Lemon and Seasonings

Once the water is boiling, add the halved lemon, Old Bay seasoning, and salt.

3

Cook the Shrimp

Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the boiling water. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

4

Ice Bath

Remove the shrimp from the pot and immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them sit in the ice water for about 5 minutes.

5

Drain and Chill

Once chilled, drain the shrimp and refrigerate until ready to serve.

In a bowl, mix together 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of horseradish sauce, 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.

7

Adjust Seasoning

Taste the sauce and add hot sauce to your desired level of spiciness.

8

Serve

Transfer the cocktail sauce to a serving dish and place it alongside the chilled shrimp.
