Method
Prepare the Croutons
- 1
Make the Croutons
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the bread into cubes and place them in a mixing bowl. Drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with garlic powder and salt. Toss until the bread cubes are well-coated.
- 2
Bake the Croutons
Spread the seasoned bread cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for about 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, tossing halfway through. Remove from the oven and let cool.
Prepare the Dressing
- 3
Combine Dressing Ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, black pepper, and grated Parmesan cheese until smooth and well-combined.
Assemble the Salad
- 4
Toss the Salad
In a large salad bowl, combine the chopped romaine lettuce with the prepared Caesar dressing. Toss until the lettuce is evenly coated.
- 5
Add Toppings
Sprinkle the croutons and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese over the salad. If desired, add anchovies on top for extra flavor.
- 6
Serve
Serve immediately while the croutons are still crispy and the salad is fresh.
