Pizza Dough

Method

Making the Pizza Dough

  1. 1

    Activate the Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center, add olive oil and the activated yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let the Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Preparing the Toppings

  1. 5

    Sauté the Shrimp

In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant. Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and sauté until they turn pink, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat.

  2. 6

    Mix the Cheese

In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, provolone cheese, and chopped parsley. Mix well and set aside.

Assembling the Pizza

  1. 7

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.

  2. 8

    Shape the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Roll it out into a 12-inch circle.

  3. 9

    Add Cheese Mixture

Place the rolled-out dough on a pizza peel or baking sheet. Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the base.

  4. 10

    Top with Seafood

Evenly distribute the sautéed shrimp and crabmeat over the cheese mixture.

  5. 11

    Bake the Pizza

Transfer the pizza to the preheated oven (or onto the pizza stone) and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

Finishing Touches

  1. 12

    Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Slice and garnish with additional parsley if desired before serving.
