Method

Cooking the Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the boiling water.

  2. 2

    Cook the Pasta

Add 12 cups of farfalle pasta to the boiling water. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 10-12 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Preparing the Sauce

  1. 3

    Sauté Garlic

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add 3 minced garlic cloves and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  2. 4

    Add Mushrooms

Add 2 cups of sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms are browned and softened.

  3. 5

    Incorporate Olives and Capers

Stir in 1 cup of sliced kalamata olives and 2 tablespoons of capers. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.

  4. 6

    Add Marinara Sauce

Pour in 2 cups of marinara sauce, and season with 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Stir well and let simmer for 5 minutes to combine flavors.

Combining Pasta and Sauce

  1. 7

    Mix Pasta with Sauce

Add the cooked farfalle pasta to the sauce in the skillet. Toss gently to combine and ensure the pasta is well coated in the sauce.

  2. 8

    Serve

Serve hot, garnished with 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese on top. Enjoy your Farfalle alla Boscaiola!
