Preparation
- 1
Clean the Calamari
Rinse the fresh calamari under cold running water, then pat dry with paper towels. Remove the fins and cut the calamari into rings.
- 2
Prep the Ingredients
Mince the garlic cloves and halve the cherry tomatoes. Chop the fresh basil and set aside.
Cooking
- 3
Sauté the Garlic
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- 4
Add Tomatoes
Add the halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes until they begin to soften and release their juices.
- 5
Incorporate Calamari
Add the cleaned calamari rings to the skillet, stirring gently. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the calamari is opaque and cooked through.
- 6
Add Balsamic Vinegar
Stir in the balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- 7
Finish with Basil
Remove the skillet from the heat and fold in the chopped basil. Serve immediately.
