Preparing the Sauce

Add Spices
Stir in the crushed red pepper flakes, salt, black pepper, and dried oregano, cooking for another minute.

Incorporate Tomatoes
Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes and bring the mixture to a simmer. Let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Finish the Sauce
Finally, stir in the chopped fresh basil, remove from heat, and set the sauce aside.
Cooking the Pasta and Sausage

Cook the Pasta
In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Cook the Sausage
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sweet Italian sausage links until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from heat and slice into rounds.
Combining and Baking

Combine Pasta and Sauce
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta with the arrabiata sauce, making sure all the pasta is well coated.

Layer the Dish
In a baking dish, create a layer of the pasta and sauce mixture. Top with sliced sausage, then sprinkle the provolone and mozzarella cheeses evenly over the top.

Arrange the sliced roasted red peppers on top of the cheese layer.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake the dish for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
