Method

Cooking Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.

  2. 2

    Cook Linguine

Add the linguine pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Drain Pasta

Once cooked, drain the pasta and set aside. Reserve a small cup of pasta water for later use.

Preparing Shrimp Fra Diavolo

  1. 4

    Sauté Eggplant

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced eggplant and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until softened.

  2. 5

    Add Garlic and Red Pepper

Stir in the minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  3. 6

    Cook Shrimp

Add the tiger shrimp to the skillet and season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

  4. 7

    Add Marinara Sauce

Pour in the marinara sauce and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for another 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

  5. 8

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked linguine to the skillet with the shrimp and sauce. Toss everything together, adding a little reserved pasta water if necessary to loosen the sauce.

Serving

  1. 9

    Plate the Dish

Serve the shrimp fra diavolo in bowls, garnished with chopped fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese to taste.
