Method
Cheese Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Mozzarella
Carefully slice the block of mozzarella cheese into 1-inch thick slices. Lay them on a plate and set aside.
Breading Mixture
- 2
- 3
Bread the Cheese
Take each mozzarella slice, coat it in flour, shaking off excess. Dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture. Ensure each piece is well covered. Repeat for all mozzarella slices.
Frying
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet or frying pan, pour in the vegetable oil and heat over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping in a breadcrumb; it should sizzle immediately.
- 5
Fry the Mozzarella
Carefully place the breaded mozzarella slices into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Once golden, remove the fried mozzarella with a slotted spoon and place on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
