Salad Preparation
- 1
Prepare Romaine Lettuce
Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water. Shake off excess water and dry using a salad spinner or paper towels. Tear the lettuce into bite-sized pieces.
Dressing Preparation
- 2
Make Caesar Dressing
In a mixing bowl, mash the garlic and anchovy fillets together to form a paste. Add the egg yolk, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Whisk until well combined. Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while whisking continuously until the dressing thickens. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Assembling the Salad
- 3
Combine Ingredients
In a large bowl, add the prepared romaine lettuce. Pour the Caesar dressing over the lettuce and toss gently until the leaves are evenly coated.
- 4
Add Toppings
Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese and croutons over the top of the salad. Toss gently once more to combine or leave them on top for a more decorative presentation.
