Cooking Pasta

Boil the Water
In a large pot, bring water to a rolling boil over high heat.

Cook Fettuccine
Add the fettuccine pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, typically about 8-10 minutes.

Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water.
Making Alfredo Sauce

Melt Butter
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.

Incorporate Heavy Cream
Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously. Allow the mixture to simmer for 3-5 minutes.

Add Parmesan Cheese
Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until fully melted and the sauce is creamy.

Season the Sauce
Add salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Stir to combine.

Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained fettuccine to the sauce. Toss gently to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce, adding reserved pasta water as needed to reach desired consistency.

Remove from heat, sprinkle with chopped parsley, and serve immediately.
