Dry Rub
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Dry Rub
In a medium bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, dried oregano, and dried thyme. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly blended.
- 2
Apply the Rub
Pat the pork ribs dry with paper towels. Generously rub the dry rub mixture onto both sides of the ribs, ensuring an even coating. Allow the ribs to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- 3
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- 4
Prepare the Baking Sheet
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. This will help the heat circulate around the ribs.
- 5
Bake the Ribs
Place the seasoned ribs on the wire rack. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the meat pulls away from the bones.
- 6
Finish Under Broiler (Optional)
For a caramelized finish, place the ribs under the broiler for an additional 5-10 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning.
- 7
Rest and Serve
Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for about 10 minutes. Slice between the bones and serve with your favorite barbecue sauce, if desired.
