Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Ribeye

Rub the ribeye steak with olive oil, then sprinkle both sides with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  2. 2

    Rest the Steak

Allow the steak to rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes to ensure even cooking.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the ribeye steak and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is achieved.

  4. 4

    Add Rosemary

During the last minute of cooking, add fresh rosemary to the skillet for added flavor.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak Again

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for another 5 minutes before slicing.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 6

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and cut the russet potatoes into quarters. Place them in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 7

    Prepare the Garlic

Meanwhile, peel and mince the garlic cloves.

  3. 8

    Drain the Potatoes

Once the potatoes are cooked, drain them in a colander and return them to the pot.

  4. 9

    Mash the Potatoes

Add the butter, minced garlic, heavy cream, salt, and black pepper to the potatoes. Mash until smooth and creamy.

  5. 10

    Serve

Serve the garlic mashed potatoes alongside the ribeye steak.
