Assembly and Cooking
- 1
Shape the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 8 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball and then flatten it into a disc.
- 2
Fill the Dough
Place about 1 tablespoon of the red bean paste in the center of each disc. Gather the edges of the dough around the filling and pinch to seal, shaping it into a pig-like shape.
- 3
Prepare for Steaming
Cut the parchment paper into small squares and place each filled bun on a piece of parchment paper. Arrange the buns in a steamer basket, leaving space between them.
- 4
Steam the Buns
Bring water to a boil in a steamer pot. Place the steamer basket over the boiling water, cover, and steam the buns for about 15-20 minutes or until they are fluffy and cooked through.
- 5
Serve
Remove the buns from the steamer and serve them warm. Enjoy your delightful red bean piggie buns!
