Prime Rib and Accompaniments

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Prime Rib

Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C). Season the prime rib roast generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Place the roast in a roasting pan, bone side down.

  2. 2

    Roast the Prime Rib

Roast the prime rib in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Then reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (163°C) and continue roasting for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches your desired doneness (130°F for medium-rare).

  3. 3

    Make the Au Jus

In a saucepan, combine the beef broth and soy sauce. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for about 10 minutes. Set aside and keep warm.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Mashed Potatoes

While the rib is roasting, prepare your mashed potatoes according to your favorite recipe or package instructions.

  5. 5

    Cook the Green Beans

In a saucepan, bring water to a boil and add the green beans. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until tender but still crisp. Drain and toss with butter.

  6. 6

    Rest and Serve

Once the prime rib is cooked to your liking, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 20 minutes before slicing. Serve with horseradish cream, au jus, mashed potatoes, and green beans.
