Method

Filling Preparation

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

In a large mixing bowl, peel and slice the fresh peaches. You should have about 6 cups of sliced peaches.

  3. 3

Add 1 cup of granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, and 1 teaspoon of salt to the peaches. Gently toss to combine.

  4. 4

Transfer the peach mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

Topping Preparation

  1. 5

In a separate mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1 teaspoon of salt.

  2. 6

Pour in 1 cup of whole milk and mix until just combined.

  3. 7

Melt 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter and pour it into the batter. Stir gently to combine.

  4. 8

Pour the batter over the peach filling in the baking dish. Do not stir.

Baking

  1. 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the topping comes out clean.

  2. 10

Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Serving

  1. 11

Scoop the warm peach cobbler into bowls and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
