Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it is hot enough for baking.

  2. 2

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt until evenly mixed.

  3. 3

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, cream the unsalted butter until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, then the vanilla extract, mixing well until fully combined.

Combining and Baking

  1. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  2. 5

    Add Chocolate Chips and Nuts

Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using) until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

  3. 6

    Scoop and Bake

Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each cookie. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.

  4. 7

    Cool the Cookies

Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
