Method

Preparing the Chicken

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, combine olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix well. Add the chicken thighs to the bowl and ensure they are evenly coated with the marinade. Cover and let marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or smoker to medium-high heat, approximately 375°F (190°C).

  3. 3

    Grill the Chicken

Place the marinated chicken thighs on the grill. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the chicken is cooked through. Remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes.

Making the BBQ Sauce

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Stir well to combine.

  2. 5

    Cook the Sauce

Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat and let it cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened. Remove from heat.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve the Chicken

Place the grilled chicken thighs on a serving platter and drizzle the BBQ sauce over the top. Serve extra BBQ sauce on the side.
