Method

Preparation of Ribs

  1. 1

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to a low heat, around 225°F (107°C). If using a smoker, prepare it according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Ribs

Remove the membrane from the back of the baby back ribs for better flavor absorption. Rub the ribs with olive oil, then season generously with salt and black pepper.

Making BBQ Sauce

  1. 3

    Mix Sauce Ingredients

In a bowl, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until well mixed.

  2. 4

    Simmer the Sauce

Transfer the sauce to a saucepan and simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens slightly.

Cooking the Ribs

  1. 5

    Smoke the Ribs

Place the prepared ribs on the grill or smoker bone side down. Smoke for about 3 hours, maintaining a consistent low heat, until the ribs are tender.

  2. 6

    Baste with BBQ Sauce

During the last 30 minutes of cooking, baste the ribs with the prepared BBQ sauce every 10 minutes to create a sticky glaze.

Serving

  1. 7

    Rest and Serve

Once cooked, remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for 10 minutes. Cut into portions and serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
