Meats

Biscuit with Apple Butter

Method

Preparing the Meats

  1. 1

    Cook the Chicken Breast

Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Remove from heat and let rest.

  2. 2

    Cook the Pork Chops

Season the pork chops with salt and pepper. In the same grill or skillet, cook the pork chops for 5-6 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C). Remove from heat and let rest.

Preparing the Sides

  1. 3

    Make the Mashed Potatoes

Peel and chop potatoes into quarters. Boil in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper to taste.

  2. 4

    Steam the Broccoli

In a steamer basket over boiling water, steam broccoli florets for about 5-7 minutes until bright green and tender. Season with salt and pepper.

Biscuit with Apple Butter

  1. 5

    Make the Biscuits

Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk just until combined. Turn the dough onto a floured surface, knead gently, and roll out to about 1-inch thickness. Cut into circles and place on a baking sheet.

  2. 6

    Bake the Biscuits

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm with apple butter.
