Dough Ingredients

Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate the Yeast

In a small bowl, combine the warm milk (110°F/43°C) with the active dry yeast and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, the remaining sugar, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and then add the melted unsalted butter and the frothy yeast mixture. Stir until combined.

  4. 4

    Combine Dry and Wet Mixtures

Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and gradually pour in the wet ingredients. Stir with a wooden spoon until a dough begins to form.

  5. 5

    Knead the Dough

Once combined, turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  6. 6

    First Rise

Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.

  7. 7

    Shape the Rolls

Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place them in a greased baking dish.

  8. 8

    Second Rise

Cover the shaped rolls with a clean cloth and let them rise again for about 30 minutes, or until puffy.

  9. 9

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) while the rolls are rising.

  10. 10

    Bake the Rolls

Once fully risen, bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown on top.

  11. 11

    Cool and Serve

Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving warm.
