Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Candied Bacon

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the bacon on the sheet and brush with honey. Bake for 15-20 minutes until crispy and caramelized. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Toast the Pecans

In a skillet over medium heat, add pecans and toast for about 5 minutes until fragrant. Season with salt and pepper and set aside.

  3. 3

    Grill the Portabella Mushrooms

Brush the portabella mushrooms with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Grill them over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes on each side until tender. Remove from heat and slice.

  4. 4

    Sear the Beef Steaks

In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over high heat. Season the beef steaks with salt and pepper. Sear the steaks for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness. Let them rest for a few minutes.

  5. 5

    Make the Vinaigrette

In a small bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, olive oil, honey, salt, and pepper to taste.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Dish

On a plate, arrange a bed of fresh spinach, top with sliced grilled portabella, sliced beef steaks, crumbled goat cheese, spiced pecans, and pieces of candied bacon. Drizzle with basil-balsamic vinaigrette and garnish with fresh basil.
