Preparation of Salmon

Marinate the Salmon
In a small bowl, mix together 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Allow the salmon to marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Preheat Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F to 400°F).

Preparation of Asparagus

Prepare the Asparagus
While the salmon is marinating, rinse the asparagus under cold water. Trim the tough ends of the asparagus.

Season the Asparagus
In a bowl, drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the asparagus. Sprinkle with 0.5 teaspoons of salt and 0.5 teaspoons of black pepper, and toss to coat evenly.

Grill the Asparagus
Place the seasoned asparagus on the grill next to the salmon during the last 5-7 minutes of grilling. Turn occasionally until tender and slightly charred.
Serving

Plate the Dish
Once both the salmon and asparagus are cooked, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes. Serve the grilled salmon alongside the grilled asparagus on a plate.
