Churros Ingredients

Method

Churros Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in flour and salt until a dough forms. Let it cool for about 10 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add Eggs

Add eggs one at a time to the cooled dough, mixing well after each addition until smooth and well combined.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep pan, heat the vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).

  4. 4

    Pipe the Churros

Spoon the dough into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Carefully pipe strips of dough (about 6 inches long) into the hot oil, cutting them with scissors.

  5. 5

    Fry the Churros

Fry the churros until they are golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Coat with Cinnamon Sugar

In a shallow bowl, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Roll the fried churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat them evenly.

  7. 7

    Prepare the Chocolate Sauce

In a small saucepan, combine chocolate chips and heavy cream. Heat over low heat, stirring until melted and smooth.

  8. 8

    Serve

Serve the churros warm with the chocolate sauce for dipping.
