Flautas

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Carne Adovada

If not done already, marinate the pork in a mixture of red chili sauce, garlic, cumin, and other spices for at least 2 hours or overnight.

  2. 2

    Cook the Carne Adovada

In a large pot, cook the marinated pork on medium heat until tender, about 1-1.5 hours. Shred the meat once cooked.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Flautas

Warm the corn tortillas in a skillet or microwave until pliable. Place a tablespoon of shredded carne adovada in the center of each tortilla and roll tightly.

  4. 4

    Fry the Flautas

In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry the flautas in batches until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Serve

Arrange the flautas on a platter. Garnish with shredded lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, and salsa.
