Prepare Tea

Steep the Tea
In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and add 4 black tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you want the tea flavor.

Remove Tea Bags
After steeping, remove the tea bags from the saucepan. You can gently squeeze the bags to extract more flavor, but be careful not to burst them.
Make Simple Syrup

Combine Sugar and Water
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar with 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar has completely dissolved.

Cool Syrup
Once the sugar has dissolved, remove the saucepan from heat and let the simple syrup cool to room temperature.
Combine Ingredients

Mix Tea and Syrup
In a large pitcher, combine the brewed tea and the cooled simple syrup. Stir well to combine.

Add Flavoring (Optional)
If desired, stir in 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice and add fresh mint leaves for extra flavor.

Fill each glass with ice cubes (about 1/2 cup) and pour the iced tea over the ice.
