Brew espresso
Brew 1 shot (about 30 ml) of espresso and let it cool to room temperature.

Prepare shaker with ice
Fill a cocktail shaker with 1 cup of ice.

Combine ingredients
To the shaker add vodka (60 ml), espresso (cooled, 30 ml), Averna Amaro (15 ml), vanilla syrup (15 ml), and coffee liqueur (15 ml). If you prefer, omit the coffee liqueur.

Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well-chilled and slightly frothy.

Strain into the chilled glass. Garnish with an orange twist and serve immediately.
