Directions
- 1
Juice the lemons
Roll the fresh lemons on the counter to loosen the juice. Cut in half and juice until you have about 1 cup of fresh lemon juice.
- 2
Prepare lemon syrup
In a small saucepan, combine 0.75 cup granulated sugar with 1 cup water. Warm over medium heat, whisking until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture becomes a clear simple syrup. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- 3
Combine lemon juice and syrup
In a large pitcher, pour in the fresh lemon juice and the cooled simple syrup. Stir to combine.
- 4
Dilute and adjust sweetness
Add 4 cups cold water to the pitcher and stir well. Taste and adjust sweetness with a touch more sugar if desired.
- 5
Add ice and chill
Fill serving glasses with ice cubes and pour the limonata over the ice. If desired, chill the lemonade for 10–15 minutes before serving.
- 6
Garnish and serve
Garnish each glass with a lemon slice and a few fresh mint leaves. Serve immediately.
