Chill glass
Chill a coupe glass by placing it in the freezer for about 5 minutes.

Prepare espresso
Brew fresh espresso and measure about 30 ml. Allow to cool slightly before using.

Add vodka
Pour 45 ml vodka into a shaker.

Add coffee liqueur
Add 30 ml coffee liqueur to the shaker.

Add cooled espresso
Add 30 ml cooled espresso to the shaker.

Add simple syrup
Add 15 ml simple syrup to balance sweetness.

Add ice and shake
Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until well chilled.

Strain and serve
Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into the chilled coupe glass to remove ice shards.
