    Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add penne pasta and cook until al dente according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

    In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes; sauté for 30-60 seconds until garlic becomes fragrant.

    Add crushed tomatoes to the skillet with the garlic and chili. Simmer for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and black pepper.

    Stir in chopped fresh parsley. Continue to simmer for 1–2 minutes to blend flavors, then remove from heat.

    Toss the drained pasta with the tomato sauce, adding a splash of reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce and help it cling to the penne.

    Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves.
