Brew the espresso
Pull a double shot of espresso (about 60 ml). Grind fresh beans, dose evenly, and extract until you have approximately 60 ml of espresso with a rich crema.

Heat the water
Heat water to just below boiling, around 90-96°C (194-205°F). Keep it ready in a kettle or heat-safe vessel.

Assemble the Americano
Pour the hot water into a warmed cup, then slowly pour the espresso into the water to preserve crema. Stir gently to combine and adjust strength to taste.
