Method
Sous Vide Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Peel and slice the burdock root into thin strips. Rinse the dandelion leaves thoroughly to remove any dirt. Crush the sarsaparilla root slightly to release its flavor.
- 2
Combine Ingredients
In a large sous vide bag, combine the Wild Turkey 101 Bourbon, burdock root, dandelion leaves, sarsaparilla root, and the whole tonka bean.
- 3
Seal and Cook
Seal the sous vide bag using a vacuum sealer. Preheat the sous vide water bath to 60°C (140°F) and submerge the bag. Cook for 2 hours.
- 4
Infuse and Strain
After cooking, remove the bag from the water bath and let it cool slightly. Strain the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the solids.
- 5
Add Bitters
Add the orange bitters to the strained bourbon infusion and stir gently to combine.
