Fried Oysters
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Aioli
In a bowl, mix the mayonnaise, chopped parsley, lemon juice, minced garlic, and a pinch of salt. Stir well and set aside.
- 2
Prepare the Breading
In a shallow dish, combine the cornmeal, gluten-free flour, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Batter the Oysters
Dip each oyster into the buttermilk, allowing any excess to drip off. Then, dredge the oysters in the cornmeal mixture until fully coated.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat the canola oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Oysters
Carefully add the breaded oysters to the hot oil in batches, frying for 2-3 minutes or until golden and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- 6
Fry the Lemon
In the same oil, add the lemon slices and fry for about 1-2 minutes until golden. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 7
Serve
Serve the fried oysters with the crispy lemon slices and Rockefeller aioli on the side.
