Mix Ingredients
In a mixing glass, combine the bourbon or rye whiskey, orange demerara simple syrup, and Angostura bitters.

Add Ice
Add ice cubes to the mixing glass and stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds to chill and dilute.

Strain
Strain the mixture into a chilled rocks glass over a large ice cube or fresh ice.

Garnish
Express the oils from the orange peel over the drink and drop the peel into the glass as a garnish.
