Salad Base

Method

Prepare Salad Base

  1. 1

    Wash and Chop Romaine

Rinse the romaine lettuce under cold water. Pat dry with a paper towel and chop into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Prepare Croutons

If using store-bought croutons, skip this step. For homemade croutons, cut bread into cubes, toss with olive oil, garlic powder, and seasonings, and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.

  3. 3

    Grate Parmesan Cheese

Using a grater, finely grate the Parmesan cheese and set aside.

Make Caesar Dressing

  1. 4

    Combine Dressing Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic (from the clove), salt, and black pepper.

  2. 5

    Whisk until Smooth

Using a whisk, mix the ingredients together until the dressing is smooth and creamy.

Assemble Salad

  1. 6

    Combine Ingredients

In a large salad bowl, combine the chopped romaine lettuce, croutons, and grated Parmesan cheese.

  2. 7

    Add Dressing

Drizzle the prepared Caesar dressing over the salad ingredients.

  3. 8

    Toss to Combine

Gently toss the salad until all ingredients are evenly coated with the dressing.

  4. 9

    Serve Immediately

Serve the Caesar salad immediately while the croutons are still crunchy.
