Mushroom Preparation
- 1
Clean the Mushrooms
Gently clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth to remove any dirt. Avoid soaking them in water as they can absorb moisture.
- 2
Remove Stems
Carefully twist and remove the stems from the mushrooms. Set aside the caps for stuffing and finely chop the stems for the filling.
- 3
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 4
Brush with Olive Oil
Place the mushroom caps on a baking sheet and brush the insides with olive oil to enhance flavor and prevent drying.
Stuffing Preparation
- 5
Make the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 6
Add Chopped Stems
Stir in the finely chopped mushroom stems into the cheese mixture to add extra flavor.
- 7
Incorporate Breadcrumbs
Fold in the breadcrumbs into the mixture until evenly distributed. This will help bind the filling.
Final Assembly
- 8
Stuff the Mushrooms
Using a spoon, generously fill each mushroom cap with the cheese and herb mixture, pressing it down slightly to pack it in.
- 9
- 10
Serve
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm as an appetizer or side dish.
