Tea Base

Sweetener (optional)

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

Boil 4 cups of water in a saucepan over medium heat.

  2. 2

Once the water reaches a rolling boil, remove it from the heat.

  3. 3

Add 2 tablespoons of green tea leaves or tea bags to the hot water.

  4. 4

Let the tea steep for 3-5 minutes, depending on how strong you prefer your tea.

  5. 5

While the tea is steeping, rinse 1 cup of fresh mint leaves under cold water to clean them.

Combining Flavors

  1. 6

After steeping, strain the tea to remove the leaves or bags.

  2. 7

Add the rinsed fresh mint leaves to the hot tea.

  3. 8

If desired, add 2 tablespoons of sugar or honey to sweeten the tea.

  4. 9

Stir the tea gently to combine the flavors and dissolve the sweetener.

Serving

  1. 10

Pour the mint tea into cups or teapots.

  2. 11

Serve hot, optionally garnished with additional mint leaves.
