Juicing the Lemons
Roll the lemons on a countertop to soften them, then cut them in half and use a juicer or reamer to extract the juice into a measuring cup. You should have about 1 cup of lemon juice.

Making the Simple Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar with 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely. Once dissolved, remove from heat and let it cool.

Combining the Ingredients
In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, the cooled simple syrup, and 3 cups of cold water. Stir well to mix all the ingredients.

Chill and Serve
If desired, chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Serve over ice cubes, garnished with fresh mint leaves and lemon slices for added flavor.
