Method

Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Coffee Mixture

Brew the espresso coffee and let it cool. Once cool, mix in the coffee liqueur if using, and set aside.

  2. 2

    Whip the Heavy Cream

In a medium bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. This will take about 3-5 minutes using an electric mixer.

  3. 3

    Make the Mascarpone Mixture

In a separate large bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.

  4. 4

    Fold in the Whipped Cream

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture using a spatula until well combined. Be careful not to deflate the whipped cream.

  5. 5

    Soak the Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a rectangular dish.

  6. 6

    Layer the Mascarpone Mixture

Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of ladyfingers, smoothing it out evenly with a spatula.

  7. 7

    Add Another Layer

Repeat the process by adding another layer of soaked ladyfingers on top of the mascarpone mixture, followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.

  8. 8

    Chill the Tiramisu

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.

  9. 9

    Serve

Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with cocoa powder using a fine sieve. Cut into pieces and enjoy!
