Dough Preparation

Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

Make Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Once the yeast is activated, add it to the flour mixture along with olive oil. Mix until combined.

Prepare Filling
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll it into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.

Assemble Filling
Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, and Italian seasoning over the sauce.

Roll Dough
Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Pinch the seams to seal.
Baking

Cut and Arrange
Cut the rolled dough into 1-2 inch pieces. Arrange them upright in a greased baking dish.

Add Toppings
In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, and crushed red pepper flakes. Brush this mixture over the dough pieces. Top with additional mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.

Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh basil before serving.
