Method
Salad Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Romaine Lettuce
Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water. Spin dry in a salad spinner or pat dry with a clean kitchen towel. Chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place in a large salad bowl.
- 2
Add Dressing and Croutons
Pour the Caesar dressing over the chopped romaine lettuce. Toss the salad gently until the lettuce is evenly coated. Add the croutons on top and give it another light toss to mix.
Breadstick Preparation
- 3
Make the Dough
In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and garlic powder. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- 4
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 5
Shape the Breadsticks
Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a long stick shape, about 6 inches long. Place the sticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 6
Bake the Breadsticks
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the breadsticks for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
