Burger Patties

Buns and Toppings

Method

Prepare the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground bison meat, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well using your hands until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions. Press each portion firmly into a patty shape about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cook the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes. If using cheese, add a slice on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Assemble the Burgers

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, cut the fresh burger buns in half and toast them on the grill or a separate toaster until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf followed by the bison patty. Top with tomato slices, red onion, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Finally, place the top half of the bun on each burger.
