Prepare Sticky Rice
- 1
Soak the Rice
Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- 2
Steam the Rice
Drain the soaked rice and place it in a steamer basket lined with cheesecloth. Steam over boiling water for about 30-40 minutes, or until the rice is translucent and tender.
- 3
Mix with Coconut Milk
In a small saucepan, combine coconut milk, sugar, and salt. Heat over low heat until the sugar and salt dissolve. Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a bowl and pour the coconut milk mixture over it. Stir to combine and let it sit for 15-20 minutes.
Prepare Mango
- 4
Slice the Mango
Peel the ripe mangoes and slice them into thin wedges.
Serve
- 5
Plate the Dish
On a serving plate, place a portion of the sticky rice and arrange the mango slices next to it. Drizzle additional coconut milk on top of the rice if desired.

Garnish
Sprinkle sesame seeds or mung beans on top for garnish, if using. Serve warm or at room temperature.
