Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the ribeye steaks dry with paper towels and rub them with olive oil, salt, and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Sear the Steak

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add a drizzle of olive oil. Once hot, add the seasoned steaks and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Add Aromatics

During the last minute of cooking, add the garlic cloves and rosemary sprigs to the skillet. Spoon the flavored oil over the steaks for added flavor.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a cutting board for about 5 minutes before slicing.

French Fries Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into even-sized sticks, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 6

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  3. 7

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 8

    Fry the Potatoes

Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with a towel. Fry them in batches for about 5-6 minutes until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  5. 9

    Season the Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle them with salt to taste.
