Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribeye Steak

Remove the ribeye steaks from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. This will ensure even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Pat the steaks dry with paper towels and rub each side with olive oil. Season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Place a sprig of fresh rosemary on top of each steak.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Preheat a skillet or grill over high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned ribeye steaks to the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust the time according to your preferred doneness.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the heat and let them rest for about 5 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 5

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into quarters. Place them in a large pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender.

  2. 6

    Add Garlic

During the last 5 minutes of cooking, add the garlic cloves to the pot with the potatoes.

  3. 7

    Drain and Mash

Once the potatoes and garlic are cooked, drain them in a colander. Return to the pot and add butter, heavy cream, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

  4. 8

    Serve the Mashed Potatoes

Serve the garlic mashed potatoes alongside the ribeye steaks, garnishing with a sprinkle of fresh herbs if desired.
