Hummus
Pita Chips
Method
Hummus Preparation
- 1
Combine Ingredients
In a food processor, combine the canned chickpeas, tahini, fresh lemon juice, minced garlic cloves, olive oil, ground cumin, salt, and water.
- 2
Blend Until Smooth
Blend the mixture on high speed until it turns creamy and smooth. If the hummus is too thick, add more water, one tablespoon at a time, until reaching desired consistency.
- 3
Taste and Adjust
Taste the hummus and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or lemon juice to suit your taste.
- 4
Serve
Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and sprinkle paprika on top for garnish. Drizzle with a little olive oil if desired.
Pita Chips Preparation
- 5
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- 6
Cut Pita Bread
Cut each pita bread into triangles or strips, depending on your preference.
- 7
Coat with Olive Oil and Season
In a large bowl, toss the pita pieces with olive oil, salt, and dried oregano until evenly coated.
- 8
Bake
Arrange the seasoned pita pieces on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for about 10-15 minutes or until they are crisp and golden brown.
- 9
Cool and Serve
Remove the pita chips from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving with the hummus.
