Method
Cold Brew Coffee Preparation
- 1
Brew the Coffee
In a large jar or pitcher, combine the coarsely ground coffee beans with cold water. Stir gently to ensure all coffee grounds are saturated.
- 2
Steep
Cover the jar or pitcher and let the mixture steep in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours, or overnight for best results.
- 3
Strain
After steeping, strain the coffee through a fine-mesh sieve or a coffee filter to separate the liquid from the coffee grounds. Discard the grounds and keep the cold brew coffee in the refrigerator.
Vanilla-Orange Syrup Preparation
- 4
Combine Ingredients
In a small saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and water. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely.
- 5
Add Flavors
Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract, orange zest, and orange juice. Allow the syrup to cool completely.
- 6
Store
Transfer the syrup to a clean bottle or jar and store it in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
Assembling the Drink
- 7
Prepare Glass
Fill a glass with ice cubes to your liking.
- 8
Mix Cold Brew and Syrup
Pour the desired amount of cold brew coffee over the ice, and add 2-4 tablespoons of the vanilla-orange syrup to taste.
- 9
Add Milk or Cream (Optional)
If desired, add a splash of milk or cream to the drink and stir gently to combine.
- 10
